(Level B) $99,441 to $117,627 (pro rata) per annum or (Level C) $121,256 to $139,445 (pro rata) per annum plus an employer contribution of 9.5% superannuation will apply.

The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate’s employment at the University.  The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement.  Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Part-time fixed term contract available at 0.5FTE until the 31st December 2020 with the potential for possible extension, in line with a Commonwealth RHMT Grant. 

This position will be based in Port Augusta or the Adelaide Hills office.

The Adelaide Rural Clinical School (ARCS) Year 1-3 Remote and Rural BMD Lead will contribute to the clinical teaching in the MBBS course in Year 1-3, particularly in the first year of the course through online modules, zoom tutorials and face-to-face clinical sessions.

The successful incumbent will lead the rural input into the Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine (BMD) in the preclinical years. This will include an evaluation of the potential for enabling remote delivery of the program.Academic jobs in Australia

The Year 1-3 Remote and Rural BMD Lead will actively contribute to the ARCS Medical Education Committee and work collaboratively with the urban course coordinators to ensure consistency across curriculum. They will also contribute to the broader ARCS agenda of recruiting, preparing and mentoring the next generation of rural health professionals, including medical students and junior doctors based in the region.

Importantly, this role works closely with Aboriginal staff, students and health professionals to close the gap in health and educational outcomes.

To be successful at Level B you will need:

  • A medical degree registerable in Australia and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to the clinical theme within the Years 1-3 of the medical course.
  • Experience in course/program coordination and the development and management of teaching and learning resources.
  • Commitment to working with Aboriginal staff, students and health professionals to close the gap in health and educational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in the delivery of course and subject design, and in the delivery of student-centred learning, and teaching at an undergraduate level that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning.
  • High level communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships and partnerships in an academic setting and collaborate with health industry and education partners.

In addition to the above, to be successful at Level C, you will also need:

  • A PhD in medical education, or a relevant field, or significant progress towards a PhD in a relevant area, or a record of scholarly and professional achievement in medical education research.
  • Demonstrated academic and management leadership skills, including the ability to mentor less senior academic, research and professional staff.
  • Ability to manage teaching using e-learning platforms and to remain well connected to peers and stakeholders through the use of synchronous and asynchronous telecommunications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional activity.

Wood Jones Chair in Anatomy will provide academic and research leadership within the Adelaide Medical School (AMS)

AMS is one of the strongest research and teaching departments at the University and is home to programs including the MBBS and from 2022, the BMD. The Wood Jones Chair in Anatomy will ensure that human anatomy education at the University of Adelaide is of the highest national and international standard.

If successful you will be responsible for enhancement of existing approaches and development of novel approaches to anatomy education. Particular emphasis will be given to the development and use of modern and novel digital technologies in anatomy teaching.
