NEADS National Student Awards Program Scholarship

The NEADS National Student Awards Program is offered to encourage full access to post-secondary education for persons with disabilities, who often have higher costs and greater barriers to participation in higher education.

Students must currently be accepted to or enrolled in a post-secondary institution and provide documented proof of registration as part of the application process and on receipt of the award.

The awards will be offered to outstanding applicants who meet the criteria of the program. The awards are paid directly to the post-secondary institution the student attends to offset the cost of tuition.

Eligibility For CNIB Post-Secondary Scholarships Awards Program Scholarship

To be considered eligible for a CNIB post-secondary scholarship, you must be:

  • Blind or partially sighted (i.e. your visual acuity is 20/200 or less in both eyes after correction, and/or you have a visual field of 20 degrees or narrower).
  • Pursuing a post-secondary diploma, degree, skilled trades certificate, apprenticeship program, or equivalent.
  • A Canadian citizen, or has held landed immigrant status for one year prior to the date of application.
  • Highly motivated, independent, and able to demonstrate a reasonable level of personal achievement.

Canadian Hearing Services National Scholarship Program

Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) proudly offers scholarships to Deaf and hard-of-hearing students to help break down financial barriers to participation and support the extra costs associated with accommodations in a higher learning environment.

Canadian Hearing Services Scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate students, including mature students attending accredited post-secondary institutions inside or outside of Canada. Students who receive funding remain eligible for the same level of funding for up to four years.

Eligibility For Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) Post-Secondary Scholarships Awards Program Scholarship

To be considered eligible for a Canadian Hearing Services post-secondary scholarship, you must:

  • Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada;
  • Have documented hearing loss of 50dB or greater, pure tone average, in each ear (50 dB or greater in the left ear AND 50 dB or greater in the right ear);
  • Be 17 years of age or older and attending an accredited post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2023 as a first-time or returning student.
